Whether you choose to fast on water or juice you will need to ensure that, once you begin consuming solids again, you do so very carefully. If your body has gone for days without food you will have to begin with gentle foods, such as soup or applesauce, before your body can handle solids again.

If you do not want to cut out food altogether you can opt for an organic food diet. This type of diet is ideal if you are overweight or if you have a medical condition that prevents you from eliminating food from your diet for a few days. Don’t give up on your detox if you find that you cannot go without food for any longer, simply choose a healthier option and turn to all-natural or organic foods.

Food stores often have great selections of organic foods but these can quickly become expensive. Water is great for flushing out toxins and, during your cleanse, you should drink about eight glass of water a day. It is important not to drink too much water, however, as this has been known to cause illness and even death. If you are overweight or you sweat a lot you can increase the amount of water you consume.
